President Donald Trump whipped out his typical “witch hunt” complaint on Thursday in response to Acting Director of Intelligence Joseph Maguire’s House Intelligence Committee hearing.

“It’s another witch hunt, here we go again,” Trump lamented. “It’s Adam Schiff and his crew making up stories and sitting there like pirates, whatever you want to call them.”

“It really is a disgrace,” he continued. “It’s a terrible thing for our country.”

The President also floated stopping Democrats’ investigation into a whistleblower complaint about Trump “maybe legally through the courts.”

I wanted to flag your attention to this video. It’s video of a protest by the Jewish activist group Never Again Action protesting outside a private immigration detention center in Rhode Island.

As you can see the protesters are peacefully obstructing an access road when a man in a truck, who appears to be ICE guard intentionally drives his car into the sitting protestors.

He then stops. Then drives into/over them again. Rhode Island State Police officers then pepper sprayed the protesters. None of the protestors were seriously injured. But a number of them did require hospitalization. According to the group, two were hospitalized for injuries caused by the truck and three for pepper spray exposure.

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that 66-year-old Jerry Foxhoven was asked to resign after repeatedly declaring his unwavering dedication to ’90s rapper Tupac and his music during work hours.

During his two-year tenure, the Tupac super-fan held “Tupac Fridays” in his office, handed out Tupac-themed cookies on his 65th birthday (some of which were decorated with the words “Thug life”) and regularly traded Tupac lyrics with staffers.

The AP got ahold of all of Foxhaven’s work emails that he’d sent containing the words “Tupac” or “2Pac.”

They reached 350 pages.

After Foxhaven sent an email to all 4,300 DHS employees last month telling them to listen to Tupac’s songs in honor of the late rapper’s birthday, Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) apparently had had enough.

Though Reynolds’ office wouldn’t confirm or deny to the AP whether the email was what led to Foxhoven’s ouster, Reynolds had asked the Iowa official to resign a day after he sent the email.

Keep ya head up, Foxhoven. Life goes on, and only God can judge you.

Scientists and humanity in general might see global warming as a life-threatening disaster, but Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sees a trade opportunity.

During a speech on Monday at the 11th Arctic Council Ministerial Meeting in Rovaniemi, Finland, Pompeo took a moment to extol the benefits of rapidly melting ice caps.

“Steady reductions in sea ice are opening new passageways and new opportunities for trade,” Pompeo said. “This could potentially slash the time it takes to travel between Asia and the West by as much as 20 days.”

The bizarre quote highlights how the secretary of state’s speech largely focused on trade competition rather than the Council’s mission of environmental protection.

But look, at least Pompeo acknowledges that melting sea ice is responsible for rising ocean levels at all. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), on the other hand, believes they’re caused by falling “rock or whatever.”
